Bern + Basel, Switzerland 10.27.07

Stopped by Bern on the way to Basel to visit Renzo Piano's Paul Klee Center. Very cool construction, see interior shot and model. Although we're disappointed we can't walk on the earth berms.
Not to be missed, we arrived an hour early! We did not realize it was daylight savings time that day. It's 10th year anniversary and still looks great. The interior daylighting quality was superb - the most sophisticated museum going experience so far. That is until a swarm of visitors arrived later in the morning.
Vitra Complex. In the Gehry building, there was a big exhibit of Le Corbusier's works (including process, journals, original models, etc.). Perfect timing since we'll be visiting Ronchamp, La Tourette, Firminy later on. Ando's conference center.
A few of Basel's modern building collection. Basel Mulhouse airport, Herzog de Meuron's Signal Tower, and Zumthor's housing complex.
